Fullerton Bay Hotel Review – For a truly romantic weekend in 2024

About The Fullerton Bay Hotel

Many people get confused with The Fullerton Hotel Singapore, which is within walking distance of The Fullerton Bay Hotel. Although the Fullerton Hotel dates back to 1928, the Fullerton Bay Hotel only opened its doors in 2010, so relatively new in comparison. This 100-room hotel is in the perfect location overlooking Marina Bay and within walking distance of some great bars, restaurants, and iconic locations in Singapore.

This modern take on a contemporary design nods in the direction of Singapore’s unique history. The tastefully designed rooms and luxuriously styled restaurants are precisely what you would expect from the Fullerton Hotel brand.

How to get to The Fullerton Bay Hotel

The Fullerton Bay Hotel Singapore is relatively easy to find as it is right next to Customs House, an integral part of Singapore’s history. Once the home of the harbour division of the Singapore Customs Police, today it is full of excellent restaurants and bars overlooking the iconic Marina Bay Sands Hotel. The Fullerton Bay Hotel address is 80 Collyer Quay Singapore 049326, and there are several ways to arrive here from the Changi International airport; you can choose to travel via bus, train, hotel car or grab/gojek/cab.

Checkin at the Fullerton Bay Hotel

Check-in was easy, and when I arrived, no one was waiting in line either, which made the process one of the fastest I have experienced in a long time. We were escorted to our room, and the view was the first thing I saw.

The Fullerton Bay Room Review

Our view was excellent, and that view could be seen from all corners of the room, including the bath. Our patio had two sun lounges that were the perfect location to sit and enjoy a glass of wine in the evening or a cup of coffee first thing in the morning. Our bed was comfortable, and the room was a great size. However, I felt like I was in a hotel in China rather than a modern luxurious hotel in Singapore.

The Bathroom is all expected of a hotel like Fullerton Bay, with beautiful finishes, a good bath and, of course, all the accessories you would expect, from moisturisers to hair dryers. We also received the cutest little bears dressed in traditional Chinese clothing as a take-home gift for our stay. But again, the stand-out piece would still have to be the view from our balcony.

Things to do at the Fullerton Bay Hotel

Enjoy every moment in your room as the hotel offers in-room dining. Or Sunbake on your deck while you watch Marina Bay come to life. It doesn’t matter what day of the week you stay at the hotel because Marina Bay has daily activities.

Spend an afternoon tea at Landing Point, where you can enjoy one of the best afternoon teas in Singapore. Currently, during the weekend, your afternoon tea is from 12-230pm and then again from 330pm to 6 pm. There is a dress code for your high tea experience, and that includes no activewear, shorts or slippers.

Book into the La Brasserie and indulge in a beautiful waterfront restaurant serving French cuisine. Either choose the al fresco terrace or dine inside for a truly memorable experience. I recommend opting for breakfast or lunch or your stay.

Take a swim at the rooftop pool; between 7 am and 1000pm daily. The pool and jacuzzi are okay, but the views are amazing.

Sip a classic cocktail at the Lantern Rooftop bar, named after the historical red lantern pier, where red oil lanterns hung from the pier to alert passing ships.

Things to do near the Fullerton Bay Hotel

Spoil yourself with an afternoon at the Fullerton spa on The Fullerton Hotel’s mezzanine floor; they have many treatments to choose from and are open between 10.00 am and 10.00 pm.

Indulge yourself and your loved one with dinner at Vue Restaurant, which is a short stroll from the Fullerton Bay Hotel. This restaurant has spectacular views and an incredibly impressive menu.

Go for a walk at night around the perimeter of Marina Bay. There is plenty to see and do at night, and it is a great way to see how beautiful this harbour is from all angles of the Marina.

So 17 years ago, my husband and I set off with our little family in tow, embarking on a short-term assignment in Taiwan. Although without any knowledge of expat life or the Taiwanese culture, we took the chance and decided this would be an exciting little adventure; little did we know it changed the direction of our lives forever.
