The train is fast, convenient, and offers lovely countryside views. Purchase tickets online and pick up at the Tourist Information Centre at the train station. Tip- You can avoid the long line by printing the tickets at the tourist information centre via the machines rather than at the desk.
Private Car Transfer: Tokyo City: Private One-Way Transfers to/from Habuka are the easiest (but most expensive) way to get to and from Tokyo to Hakuba.
By Bus: Direct buses from Tokyo to Hakuba take 5-6 hours. They’re an economical choice, but less time-efficient than the train.
By Car: Driving takes about 4-5 hours. If you rent a car, ensure it has snow tyres and that you’re comfortable driving in icy conditions.
From Nagano Station to Happo-One Bus terminal
Once you arrive at Nagano Station, you can purchase a ticket at the tourist information centre at Nagona Train Station. The bus to the Happo-one bus terminal is approximately 1 hour.
From Happo-One Bus Terminal to Hakuba Accommodation
Whether you have caught a bus from Tokyo or Nagano Station, you can get to your accommodation from this bus terminal. Check whether your accommodation offers a free shuttle bus service, whether you are close enough to walk or whether you catch the free shuttle bus service to your accommodation. The other option is Uber and taxis.
